I've been playing piano for a long time

Currently playing with Stevenson's Rockets at Emerald Hotel, South Melbourne on Sunday evenings 7-10pm

At home I play a Helpinstill Roadmaster 64, which is a small compact acoustic piano. It has short scale strings and its action is constructed in the "spinet" style (not to be confused with the harpsichord-like instrument), which means that the hammers are pulled from above, rather than being pushed from below, as is usual in a normal sized upright piano. As the name suggests, it has only 64 notes, so imagine a regular piano without the top octave and bottom octave.

I will be leading my Quartet at Wangaratta Jazz Festival on November 2 during the arvo.

James Macaulay - trombone, Tamara Murphy - bass, Sam Bates - drums.

I will also be playing in Barry Wratten's New Orleans - style band at the festival, on the saturday evening and sunday late morning in the pub.

Polarity - this track from Allan Browne's album "five bells". Al plays drums, Jo Stevenson is on bass sax.
